Aurora is no ordinary pilsner. It marks the return of a legend – originally conceived as “Champion Bitter” for Beer Sommelier World Champion Karl Schiffner, further developed by his son and brewmaster Felix Schiffner, and brewed at the Hofstetten Private Brewery.

What’s inside? 100% Mühlviertel Aurora hops, a robust malt backbone – and plenty of passion. With a bold 50 bitterness units and triple hopping compared to a classic pilsner, it rightfully earns the name Imperial Pilsner.

In the glass, Aurora appears dark gold, naturally cloudy, crowned with a dense, fine-pored head. On the nose, fresh green-hop aromas meet delicate citrus notes. On the palate, a clean, elegant bitterness combines with a subtle malt sweetness that balances the beer without softening its edge. The finish is dry, intense, and lingers long in the memory.

This beer has history: brewed since 2010, it was for a long time enjoyed exclusively at the Schiffner beer tavern. After its closure, one thing was clear – this beer must not disappear. Hofstetten and the Schiffners decided together: Aurora belongs back – in the bottle and in the glass.

Food pairing? Perfect with spicy dishes, hearty platters of cured bacon, fried chicken, roasts, or even hot and spicy cuisine – the hop bitterness tames the heat and makes flavors shine.

A beer for champions – and for those who aspire to become one.
